Volleyball Recap: Monroe-Woodbury Comes Up Short

Monroe-Woodbury was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Goldbacks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

Monroe-Woodbury's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Newburgh Free Academy, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5.

Monroe-Woodbury does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newburgh Free Academy, they will challenge Kingston at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
