            Softball Recap: Rigby Trojans vs. Pocatello Thunder        
        
		
        
        
            Rigby had lost six straight on the road, but  on Monday they dropped their record down to 6-13 to make it seven. They fell just short of the Pocatello Thunder by a score of  7-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the  8-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April of 2023.
  Avery Schofield made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-2 with one  home run and two  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Addison Cox, who  went 2-for-4 with three  runs and one  RBI.
As for Pocatello, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.7 runs over those games.
 On Pocatello's side, they let  Jakobi Nebeker and  Oakley Hirschi run wild. Nebeker  went 2-for-4 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double, while  Hirschi  went 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI. That's the most  runs  Hirschi has posted since April 4th.  Jordy Snell was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with three  RBI.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rigby will take on Madison at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Pocatello, they will challenge Century at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Thunder are facing the Diamondbacks at the right time seeing as the Diamondbacks are stuck on  a  four-game losing streak.
