Newcastle faced Burns in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Dogies narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Broncs 15-13. Winning may never get old, but the Dogies sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

A big part of Newcastle's victory came down to the chemistry between Teddy Troftgruben and his top target Dane Crabtree. Troftgruben rushed for 48 yards and one score while Crabtree rushed for 51 yards and one touchdown.

Newcastle's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Burns, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.
