Basketball Game Preview: Perry Bluejays vs. Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs

The Perry Bluejays will take on the Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Perry had taken West Marshall down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Bluejays took a 41-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. The Bluejays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Perry got top-tier performance from Gustavo Drahos, who went 12-for-29 on his way to 29 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. That was a full 80.6% of the Bluejays' points, marking the third time in a row Drahos has posted more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Prairie City-Monroe). They enjoyed a cozy 64-45 victory over North Mahaska on Monday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Warhawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Perry now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Prairie City-Monroe, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Perry strolled past Prairie City-Monroe when the teams last played back in January by a score of 61-47. Do the Bluejays have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
