Basketball Recap: Lutheran Takes a Loss

Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 70-49 to the Edinburg Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 620th, while the Wildcats are ranked 148th).

Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Edinburg, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lutheran will square off against Carlinville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Edinburg, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Edinburg Wildcats face off against the Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
