Basketball Recap: Aviation Takes a Loss

Aviation lost against The Young Women's Leadership School of Astoria back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Aviation Flyers came up short against The Young Women's Leadership School of Astoria Phoenix , falling 54-31. While losing is never fun, the Flyers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while the Phoenix are ranked 55th).

Aviation's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for The Young Women's Leadership School of Astoria, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aviation will take on Kennedy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for The Young Women's Leadership School of Astoria, they are taking a road trip to challenge The Baccalaureate School for Global Education at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for The Baccalaureate School for Global Education: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while The Young Women's Leadership School of Astoria has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
