Basketball Recap: South Decatur Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact South Decatur can now relate to. They fell to the Edinburgh Lancers 53-47. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, with their most recent loss being a 66-55 defeat two weeks ago.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lucas Ballard, who posted 13 points and eight rebounds. Drake Scaggs was another key player, putting up 15 points.

South Decatur has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season. Edinburgh is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-12 record this season.

South Decatur does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Edinburgh, they and North Decatur will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played.
