Soccer Game Preview: Bennington vs. Ralston

The Bennington Badgers will head out on the road to face off against the Ralston Rams at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Bennington is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Blair, who was ranked ninth at the time (Bennington was ranked 16th). The Badgers came up short against the Bears on Thursday, falling 3-0. The game was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Bennington struggled afterwards.

Meanwhile, Ralston kept a clean sheet against Lincoln Lutheran/Raymond Central/Parkview Christian on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Lincoln Lutheran/Raymond Central/Parkview Christian. The win made it back-to-back victories for Ralston.

Sophie Bowyer and MADDIE OCHSNER scored both of Ralston's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

With the defeat, Bennington broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4. As for Ralston, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Bennington was able to grind out a solid victory over Ralston in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Badgers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
