It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but San Marcos ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the East Central Hornets 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Rattlers in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won three in a row.

San Marcos' victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 11-10-1. As for East Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.
