Basketball Recap: Clinton County Comes Up Short

Clinton County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Russell County Lakers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lakers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 40-38 loss last Thursday.

Clinton County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-20. As for Russell County, their victory bumped their record up to 12-16.

Clinton County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Russell County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Metcalfe County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Metcalfe County will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Russell County surely won't give up without a fight.
