Baseball Game Preview: Colorado Springs Christian Lions vs. Rye Thunderbolts

The Colorado Springs Christian Lions will challenge the Rye Thunderbolts at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Colorado Springs Christian and seven for Rye.

Colorado Springs Christian lost 12-2 to Front Range Christian on Tuesday.

Ben Garl made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Rye fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Las Animas on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 3-2.

Colorado Springs Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Rye, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Colorado Springs Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Rye in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 9-4. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Thunderbolts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
