Basketball Recap: Ryan Hesseltine and Blake Hanna Secure Win for Franklin Academy

Franklin Academy won the last time they faced Brushton-Moira and things went their way on Saturday too. Everything went the Franklin Academy Huskies' way against the Brushton-Moira Panthers as the Franklin Academy Huskies made off with a 57-34 win. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th in New York, while the Panthers are ranked 680th in New York), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Franklin Academy was led to victory by Blake Hanna and Ryan Hesseltine. Hanna went 5-for-9 en route to 11 points and six rebounds, while Hesseltine went 5-for-8 on his way to 10 points and three steals. What's more, Hesseltine also posted a 63% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kolt Warner, who posted eight points and eight boards.

Franklin Academy pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. As for Brushton-Moira, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Franklin Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-59 win against Massena on the 26th. As for Brushton-Moira, they have also already played their next matchup, a 39-38 victory against Madrid-Waddington on the 20th.
