Softball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Wood Memorial

Wood Memorial came tearing into Thursday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Northeast Dubois Jeeps 7-5. While the Trojans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Wood Memorial's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Northeast Dubois, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.
