Shrine Catholic hasn't had much luck against Cabrini recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Monarchs at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Shrine Catholic has three straight wins, Cabrini has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Shrine Catholic is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Detroit Cristo Rey 23-8 on Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Kate Zboril, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with six RBI, four runs, and two stolen bases. Zboril is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Singler, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
Shrine Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .429 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Cabrini lost 24-16 to Parkway Christian on Friday.
Cabrini got a massive performance out of Raquel Zamarron, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Zamarron also got two hits, marking her first of the season. Mae Dmitruchina was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Shrine Catholic's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Cabrini, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Shrine Catholic hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .429. However, it's not like Cabrini struggles in that department as they've averaged .342. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Shrine Catholic suffered a grim 20-5 defeat to Cabrini in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
