It was a good run, but Fort Payne unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 15-5 to Scottsboro. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Scottsboro this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 back in March.
Josie Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Cory Kramer, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Fort Payne's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Scottsboro, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Payne will take on Boaz at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games the Pirates have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Scottsboro, they will face off against Arab at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
