Baseball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Annapolis' Winning Streak

Annapolis dropped their record down to 6-8 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Inter-City Baptist Chargers. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Cougars' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Inter-City Baptist, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-3 record. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-8), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

For Inter-City Baptist's part, Annapolis' batters probably weren't too happy with Luke Harrison, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 19 Ks (he gave up zero walks). Harrison has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Inter-City Baptist's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Appel, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Appel is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Ryan Dodson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Coming up, Annapolis will head out to take on Redford Union at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Inter-City Baptist, they will be playing at home against Novi Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
