Basketball Game Preview: Pope Francis Prep Cardinals vs. Springfield International Charter School Bulldogs

After both having extra time off, the Pope Francis Prep Cardinals and the Springfield International Charter School Bulldogs will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pope Francis Prep has four straight wins, Springfield International Charter School has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Pope Francis Prep will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Putnam Vo-Tech, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Everything went Pope Francis Prep's way against Putnam Vo-Tech last Monday as Pope Francis Prep made off with a 68-47 victory. Fans of the Cardinals have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Meanwhile, Springfield International Charter School unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 76-64 to Holyoke back in December of 2024. The Bulldogs were down 63-40 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Pope Francis Prep's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Springfield International Charter School, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Pope Francis Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Springfield International Charter School in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 70-57.
