Mercer Island has gone 4-0 against Redmond recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mercer Island Islanders will challenge the Redmond Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Redmond took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Mercer Island, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, Mercer Island made easy work of Highline and carried off a 69-43 win. Given the Islanders' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Pirates are ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Redmond has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 71-64 to Bothell/Inglemoor on Tuesday.

The victory made it two in a row for Mercer Island and bumps their season record up to 7-5. As for Redmond, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.

Mercer Island beat Redmond 64-54 in their previous meeting back in January of 2018. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mercer Island since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
