Preview: Litchfield Purple Panthers vs. East Alton-Wood River Oilers
The Litchfield Purple Panthers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the East Alton-Wood River Oilers at 1:30 p.m. on December 26th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Wednesday, Litchfield came up short against Nokomis and fell 55-48.
Defeat or not, Litchfield got some senior leadership from Aj Odle who scored 15 points along with seven steals and Victor Mcgill who scored 20 points. The game was Mcgill's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Saathoff, who scored four points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, East Alton-Wood River's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Greenville an easy 74-48 victory. East Alton-Wood River has not had much luck with Greenville recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Litchfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for East Alton-Wood River, they bumped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Litchfield came up short against East Alton-Wood River in their previous matchup back in January, falling 50-43. Can Litchfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
