Football Recap: Swainsboro's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Swainsboro dropped to 8-2 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Savannah Christian Raiders, falling 45-19. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 48-12 to the Raiders when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Although Swainsboro took the loss, they still got scores from Marco Danford, Daveyhon Williams, and Shannon Benjamin.

As for Savannah Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Blaise Thomas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 128 yards and one score on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 262 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in August.

Swainsboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Savannah Christian, they are taking a road trip to take on Toombs County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 13.2 points per game this season, so the Raiders' offense will have their work cut out for them.
