Finneytown had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Spencer Center 23-1.

Alex Anderson was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

In other pitching news, Noah Anderson looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

Back at the plate, Finneytown got a massive performance out of Daniel Mefford, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Mefford a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Richard, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Spencer Center is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Finneytown will challenge Taylor at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Spencer Center, they will square off against Taft at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
