Basketball Recap: Marquette Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Marquette can now relate to. They took a 60-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hinckley-Big Rock Royals on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Royals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-43 two weeks ago.

Marquette's defeat dropped their record down to 17-16. As for Hinckley-Big Rock, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season.

Marquette does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hinckley-Big Rock, they will face off against Serena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hinckley-Big Rock knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Serena likes a good challenge.
