Basketball Game Preview: Carolina Day Wildcats vs. New Garden Friends Bears

The Carolina Day Wildcats will venture away from home to face off against the New Garden Friends Bears at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Carolina Day has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight losses, while New Garden Friends will come in with three straight victories.

Carolina Day came up short against Christ School on Thursday, falling 67-46. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Greenies are ranked first).

Meanwhile, New Garden Friends beat Cape Fear Christian Academy 62-53 on Friday.

New Garden Friends is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Carolina Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Carolina Day took a serious blow against New Garden Friends when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 54-27.
