Basketball Game Preview: Alvin Yellowjackets vs. Pearland Oilers + Official Tickets

Alvin hasn't had much luck against Pearland recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Yellowjackets will face off against the Oilers at 7:00 p.m.

Alvin came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against Shadow Creek, falling 71-26. The Yellowjackets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-9.

Pearland not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since November 14th (when they won 73-18). They took their contest with ease, bagging a 71-24 win over Sam Rayburn. The victory continues a trend for the Oilers in their matchups with the Texans: they've now won five in a row.

Alvin better keep an eye on Anita Nwosu. She was instrumental in Pearland's win, going 10-for-12 to rack up 24 points and eight boards. What's more, Nwosu posted three assists, the most she's had since back in November. Another player making a difference was Tycee Thibeaux, who put up four points and eight steals.

Pearland's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Alvin, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Alvin was taken down by Pearland 72-12 in their previous matchup back in January. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Yellowjackets were down 50-2.
