Softball Recap: Tonopah Valley Comes Up Short

Tonopah Valley came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 10-0 to the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks. If the Phoenix were looking for revenge after losing 14-0 to the Shamrocks when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tonopah Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Green, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Tonopah Valley now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Yuma Catholic, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Looking ahead, Tonopah Valley will square off against Phoenix Christian at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Tonopah Valley's pitchers better be ready for this one: Phoenix Christian has averaged an impressive 16.7 runs per game this season. As for Yuma Catholic, they will welcome River Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
