Baseball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central was the 7-2 winner over Heritage when they last played one another on Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolves fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 18-17 on Wednesday.

Jose Costilla was cooking despite his team's loss, going 4-for-5 with four runs, five RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Paulino Perez, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Central has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Heritage, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 3-8.

While Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
