Basketball Recap: Manchester Comes Up Short

After flying high against Atlanta Classical Academy last Friday, Manchester came back down to earth. The Manchester Blue Devils were beaten by the Harris County Tigers 67-18 on Saturday. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Manchester saw an underclassman step up: freshman Eriyanna Stallworth posted ten points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harris County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Megan Huling, who went 6 of 13 en route to 16 points. The dominant performance gave Huling a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Ja'Niya Broome, who earned 12 points and eight boards.

Manchester's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Harris County, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.

Manchester didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-41 loss against Greenville on the 28th. As for Harris County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-46 win against St. Anne-Pacelli on the 25th.
