Basketball Game Preview: Fox Tech Buffaloes vs. Lanier Voks

The Fox Tech Buffaloes will square off against the Lanier Voks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Fox Tech and five for Lanier.

On Friday, Fox Tech had to suffer through a 56-25 loss at the hands of Sam Houston. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1153rd, while the Hurricanes are ranked 407th).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-29, which was the final score in Lanier's tilt against Sam Houston on Tuesday.

Lanier's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Fox Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.

Fox Tech was able to grind out a solid win over Lanier when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 36-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buffaloes since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
