Basketball Recap: Edgewood Academy Wildcats vs. Southern Academy Cougars
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Edgewood Academy Wildcats walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 63-49 win over the Cougars on Saturday. The win was just what Edgewood Academy needed coming off of a 61-39 defeat in their prior game.
Edgewood Academy found their leader in underclassman Brock Whitt, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Whitt has scored all season. Johnny Groves was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six assists and six steals.
Edgewood Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-16 record this season. As for Southern Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
Edgewood Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Southern Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
