The Acadiana Christian Defenders will take on the John Paul the Great Academy Guardians on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
The Defenders are looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Lions. The victory was familiar territory for the Defenders, who have now won five matchups in a row dating back to last season.
Dawson Claudet was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Claudet was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Caleb Barras was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ezra Barras, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, John Paul the Great Academy made easy work of Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics on Thursday and carried off a 14-5 win.
Like Acadiana Christian, John Paul the Great Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Jonah Petitt. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Petitt was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Angelle, who went a perfect5-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Micah Thomas was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Acadiana Christian took their victory against John Paul the Great Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1.
