Recap: Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons vs. Fort Myers Green Wave

The Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 56-37 victory over Fort Myers. That's another feather in the cap for Charlotte, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Chris Cornish continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. Cornish is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Jordan Attia was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Charlotte's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Fort Myers, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

Charlotte will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Saint Stephen's Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. Saint Stephen's Episcopal is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Fort Myers won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Booker at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Booker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 450th, while Fort Myers is ranked 187th).
