Basketball Recap: Herlong Comes Up Short

Herlong lost against Loyalton back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Herlong Vikings were beaten by the Loyalton Grizzlies 61-19.

Despite the defeat, Herlong saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaxson Hargus posted four points and nine boards.

Herlong's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Loyalton, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-10.

Herlong will host Elk Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Herlong is facing Elk Creek at the right time seeing as Elk Creek is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Loyalton, they are taking a road trip to challenge Princeton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Loyalton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Princeton likes a good challenge.
