Volleyball Recap: Soquel Knights vs. Capuchino Mustangs
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Soquel had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They won by a set and slipped past the Capuchino Mustangs 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.
Soquel was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 18-25, 23-25, 25-18, 15-10.
Soquel got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gemma Reyes out in front who had 16 digs. Another player making a difference was Mia Riddle, who had six digs and 13 assists.
Soquel pushed their record up to 17-14 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Capuchino, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-10.
