Softball Recap: Jeffersonville Takes a Loss

Jeffersonville managed to slip by DuPont Manual the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Red Devils lost 18-4 to the Crimsons on Wednesday. The Red Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crimsons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Ally Young made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Lilly Hardin also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Jeffersonville and nudges their season record down to 1-8. As for DuPont Manual, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-5.

Looking ahead, Jeffersonville will take on Corydon Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Red Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for DuPont Manual, they will face off against Nelson County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
