Basketball Recap: Harper Rife's Big Game Can't Quite Lead East Coweta over Cherokee

East Coweta and Cherokee squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but East Coweta had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Cherokee Warriors by a score of 60-58.

East Coweta's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Harper Rife, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 18 points. Thanks to that strong game, Rife now owns an excellent 40.1% three-point shooting accuracy. Cam Green was another key player, putting up nine points along with seven assists and five rebounds.

East Coweta's defeat dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Cherokee, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-11.

East Coweta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cherokee, they will face off against Grayson on Wednesday. One thing working in Grayson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matches.
