Baseball Recap: Nipmuc Regional Has No Trouble Against Douglas

After only one run in their last game, Nipmuc Regional made sure to put some runs up on the board against Douglas on Wednesday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 10-0 win. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Dylan Muccini's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Nipmuc Regional is 4-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Grady O'Neil was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zach Duplessis, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Nipmuc Regional's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Douglas, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Nipmuc Regional didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-1 victory against Blackstone-Millville on the 8th. As for Douglas, they will square off against Quabbin Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
