Softball Recap: Preble Shawnee Takes a Loss

Preble Shawnee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Franklin Wildcats, falling 16-6. That's two games in a row now that the Arrows have lost by exactly ten runs.

Maddey Gibbs and Kinity Roberts did some serious damage despite the final result: Gibbs went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Roberts went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Preble Shawnee's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Franklin, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Preble Shawnee will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Arcanum at 5:00 p.m. on April 8. As for Franklin, they will head out on the road to face off against Middletown at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
