Softball Recap: Lane Tech Comes Up Short

Lane Tech lost against Loyola Academy back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Champions fell just short of the Ramblers by a score of 8-6. That's two games in a row now that the Champions have lost by exactly two runs.

Hannah Roeder was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Lane Tech and nudges their season record down to 18-11. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only two runs. As for Loyola Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lane Tech will square off against Resurrection at 4:45 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Loyola Academy, they will take on New Trier at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
