Basketball Recap: Irion County Comes Up Short

Irion County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 59-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grape Creek Eagles. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.

Irion County now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Grape Creek, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Irion County will be playing at home against Ozona at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grape Creek, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-57 defeat against Sonora on the 6th.
