Baseball Recap: Hollis-Brookline Has No Trouble Against St. Thomas Aquinas

Hollis-Brookline lost to St. Thomas Aquinas back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Cavaliers blew past the Saints 9-3. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Dylan Morelli made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Paul Gehan was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Tyler Gryniewicz was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Hollis-Brookline kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Hollis-Brookline's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
