Football Game Preview: West Nassau Warriors vs. Umatilla Bulldogs

The West Nassau Warriors will challenge the Umatilla Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as West Nassau comes in on five and Umatilla on 11.

West Nassau is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Stanton 48-12. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Warriors' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 170th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 476th).

West Nassau got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Skyler Freeman out in front who rushed for 69 yards and one score. Another player making a difference was Avery Griffin, who picked up 62 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: West Nassau was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 225 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 225 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Umatilla strolled past Lake Weir with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 26-12. Those 26 points were actually the fewest the Bulldogs have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Umatilla's receiving core played a big role in the win, headlined by Ray Jenkins and Bryce Norflee. Jenkins threw for 122 yards and two TDs while Norflee gained 67 total yards and two touchdowns.

West Nassau's record is now 10-1. As for Umatilla, their record now sits at 11-0.
