Football Recap: West Lincoln Takes a Loss

West Lincoln extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 0-2. They were beaten by the Loyd Star Hornets 48-0. The Bears were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

As for Loyd Star, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 34.0 points this season.

Loyd Star's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordyn Kees, who rushed for 50 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Phillip Ross Spencer, who rushed for 75 yards on only six carries.

West Lincoln has already played their next matchup, a 42-14 loss against Centreville Academy on the 12th. As for Loyd Star, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 22-12 victory against North Forrest on the 12th.
