Softball Recap: Bayard Tigers vs. Chadron Cardinals        
        
		
             With a playoff game on the line, Bayard rose to the challenge  on Monday. They had just enough and edged the Chadron Cardinals out  15-13. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their two-run performance the  game before.
 Bayard let  Shayleigh West and  Krista West loose on the outfield. Shayleigh  scored three  runs and  stole four bases while  getting on base  in three of her six plate appearances, while  Krista  scored a  run while going 2-for-4. Shayleigh is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen two or more in the last six games she's  played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was  Jenna Flores, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of her six plate appearances.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bayard  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .533. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  OBP of .500 or higher in five consecutive  matches.
 Bayard pushed their record up to 12-12-1 with the  victory, which was their fifth straight  on the road. As for Chadron, their loss dropped their record down to 13-15.
 Bayard has already played their next contest,  an  8-0  defeat against Twin River on the 7th. Chadron does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
