Baseball Recap: Maryville Christian Wins Going Away Against Midway

Maryville Christian barely beat Midway the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles put the hurt on the Green Wave with a sharp 15-7 victory on Monday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Benjamin Paddock made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Noah Seiler was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Tyler Davis was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

Maryville Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Midway, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16-1.

Maryville Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Green Wave: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
