Soccer Game Preview: Sandpoint vs. Tournament Opponent

The Sandpoint Bulldogs will challenge Tournament Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Sandpoint is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy, who was ranked 17th at the time (Sandpoint was ranked 16th). The Bulldogs never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Sandpoint.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Tournament Opponent's offense. They came up short against Crossroads Christian on Saturday, falling 4-0.

Sandpoint's victory bumped their record up to 11-3-2. As for Tournament Opponent, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-21 record this season.
