Volleyball Recap: Hershey Takes a Loss

If Hershey was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Kimball on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the McCook Bison on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Bison recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

While Hershey ultimately came up short, they really made McCook work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-22, 25-16.

Hershey's offense was headlined by Ella Becher and Ryleigh Melvin, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Demi Damoude and her 16 assists.

McCook can attribute much of their success to Bailee Foster, who had 14 digs. Foster is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Hershey's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for McCook, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3.

Hershey didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Bridgeport on the 27th. As for McCook, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Maywood/Hayes Center on the 27th.
