Auburn had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their defense stepped up to hand the McGill-Toolen Yellowjackets a 3-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for Auburn, who have now won 13 matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Auburn is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up five goals over those 12 games. As for McGill-Toolen, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 14-6-2 record.

Looking ahead, Auburn will take on Vestavia Hills at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Vestavia Hills will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Auburn surely won't give up without a fight. McGill-Toolen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
