Soccer Game Preview: Carver vs. Wareham

Carver is a perfect 3-0 against Wareham since September of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Crusaders will challenge the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. Carver's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Carver lost 5-1 to Abington on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Carver can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts soccer rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while Abington are ranked 69th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wareham, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Avon on Thursday as they made off with a 7-1 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Wareham's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

The win snapped Wareham's losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 2-4-1 record. As for Carver, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Everything went Carver's way against Wareham when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Carver made off with a 5-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
