Red Bud has gone a perfect 8-0 against Sparta recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Musketeers will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. Red Bud is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
16 must be Red Bud's lucky number: they beat Wesclin with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Musketeers beat the Warriors by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 16-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Musketeers.
Olivia Geralds made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over 5.2 innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton Kreher, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Wagner, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Red Bud kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wesclin only managed seven hits.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Sparta and DuQuoin, and DuQuoin kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost three in a row.
Kenzie Pierce made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Emma Stork was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Red Bud pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Sparta, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.
Sparta's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Red Bud has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Sparta, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.7 strikeouts. Will Red Bud keep running through batters, or will the Bulldogs buck the trend?
Everything went Red Bud's way against Sparta in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Red Bud made off with a 20-1 win. Do the Musketeers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
