Softball Recap: Peninsula's Run of Seven Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against Lakes on Monday, Peninsula came back down to earth. The Seahawks took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the River Ridge Hawks on Wednesday. The Seahawks' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Kyla McCarthy made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Gelli, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Peninsula's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for River Ridge, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6.

Coming up, Peninsula will face off against Gig Harbor at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tides will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Seahawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for River Ridge, they will challenge North Thurston at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
